1769 · A settlement called Protectworth
The town changed its name in 1794. We kept ours.
When settlers first put down roots here in 1769, they called the place Protectworth. By 1794 the town had become Springfield — but the old name still fits a family barn that has stood since 1919 and a maple tradition Darrin's grandfather started in the 1940s. We carry it forward, one boiling season at a time.

How our maple is made
Forty gallons of sap for one of syrup
Each spring the sugarhouse fills with steam as sap boils down over the fire. It is slow, smoky, patient work — and it is our favorite time of year. We are grateful to Kevin Roberts and Family, essential partners who supply the evaporator that makes our syrup possible.
